What is the difference between the Moto Care Extended Service Plan and the Moto Care Accident Protection plan?
Our Extended Service Plan provides 12 months of mechanical breakdown coverage with low deductibles.
Our Accidental Damage Plan gives you the same coverage as the Extended Service Plan with low deductibles plus coverage for certain accidents that affect the functionality of the device like spills and screen breaks.
What’s not covered?
The Moto Care Extended Service Plan does not cover any accidents or damage, lost or stolen devices, damage caused by reckless or abusive treatment, and normal wear and tear when the device still works. Full Terms and Conditions.
The Moto Care Accident Protection Plan does not cover lost or stolen devices, damage caused by reckless or abusive treatment, and normal wear and tear when the device still works. Moto Care Accident Protection also doesn't cover damage resulting from unauthorized repair and unapproved upgrades.
How much do plans cost?
Moto Care Protection prices vary based on your device and the level of coverage you select. You will find the cost of plans for your specific device during the checkout process.
When do the Moto Care Protection plans start?
The Moto Care Extended Service plan starts the day your standard limited manufacturer's ends.
Moto Care Accident Protection Plan begins the day you purchase the device. If you purchase within 30 days of receiving your device, coverage begins on the date you purchased your device. How long does coverage last?
Motorola's standard limited warranty covers one year.
Depending on the term you select, Moto Care Accident Protection provides coverage for an additional 3 months or 12 months, and includes mechanical breakdown for 12 months after the manufacturer's warranty expires.
Moto Care Extended Service Plan gives you peace of mind against mechanical breakdown for 12 months after the manufacturer's warranty expires.
Is Moto Care Protection available everywhere?
Currently, Moto Care Protection is only available for devices purchased and used in the United States. Does not include Puerto Rico.
Can I transfer my Moto Care Protection? How?
Moto Care Protection stays with your device. If you sell or give your device to someone else, the device will still be covered under the existing Service Plan policy. If you receive a replacement device from us (see "Making a Claim"), we will automatically transfer the remaining coverage to the replacement device.
Note: You cannot transfer coverage to another device that you purchase or obtain otherwise.
Can I cancel my Moto Care Protection?
Yes, you may cancel your plan at any time. You'll get a full refund if the coverage is cancelled within 60 days. After 60 days, the refund will be prorated. The value of any claims already made on your Service Plan contract will be deducted.
How do I make a claim?
You have two options for submitting a claim:

How many claims am I allowed to make?
The Moto Care Extended Service plan has no limitation on the number of claims you can make, but you have to pay a deductible for each claim made during the coverage period. If your device cannot be repaired or repair exceeds the Limit of Liability, the maximum payable will be the lesser of, the current market value of a comparable device, or the retail price paid, minus sales tax and claims paid. Do I have to pay a deductible for claims I make under Motorola Protection?
Depending on the type of claim, you may be responsible for a deductible. You will be asked to pay the deductible during the claim process if it applies. See table below. What if I make a claim and you can’t fix my device?
If your device is covered under a Moto Care Protection plan, and we can't fix it, you'll receive a like-new replacement.
Will I receive a certificate of coverage?
The official certificate of coverage will be emailed to you after you purchase the protection and once the certificate is processed. This usually takes a few days. Please contact us if you haven’t received it within 10 days of purchase.
