The East-West Gate Intermodal Terminal (EWG) in Fényeslitke, Hungary is Europe’s largest smart railway logistics terminal, and serves as the western gateway to the New Silk Road. Working with Lenovo and Kontron Hungary Kft, EWG built a state-of-the-art data center to power operations and ensure the smooth passage of freight traffic between Europe and Asia.

After evaluating solutions from leading vendors, EWG teamed up with Lenovo and Kontron Hungary Kft to kit out its brand-new data center with high-performance Lenovo ThinkSystem servers, storage, and networking.

By partnering with Lenovo, EWG was able to procure and install the equipment in just three months at the height of the COVID disruption. Today,
EWG has a rock-solid infrastructure it can rely on to keep operations— and freight—on track.
