Regulatory Compliance

EU RED Common Charger

The EU Radio Equipment Directive (Directive 2014/53/EU), Article 3(4), effective December 28, 2024 (for tablets and selected consumer wireless options), and effective April 28, 2026 (for notebook computers), supports common charging requirements for certain categories of rechargeable radio equipment. As implemented through the EU’s common charger rules, it helps ensure charging interoperability, improve consumer convenience, and reduce electronic waste across the European Union.

For proof of compliance, please refer to your product’s EU DoC.

For some notebook products released prior to April 28, 2026, and for some tablet PCs and options released prior to December 28, 2024, Common Charger DoC addendums have been created to demonstrate compliance. Please refer to the EU DoC Common Charger addendums linked below:

If you are unable to find the EU DoC for your product, please send an email to compliance@lenovo.com. Be sure to include the product marketing name and machine type in your inquiry.
