The Ultimate PC Gaming Setup

Are you ready to take gaming as your passion seriously? Though a basic desktop computer can help you play a few games, for those who plan to plan graphic intense games or those that require multiple tasks at once, there is often the need to invest in a more specialized solution. A gaming desk setup should include some core components, whether you are talking about peripherals or the processor within, to ensure you get the best overall experience for your needs.

As you consider all of your options, be warned that going with the best of everything is going to run up the cost of your gaming system significantly. That is why it is best to learn as much as you can about each component that is important to you and then update as you see fit based on what you play and how serious you plan to play.

How do you know what to buy? Take a look at the following aspects of the best gaming setup. You can always update and customize it to help you fit your needs. At Lenovo, we offer a wide range of options to help you get the best results possible.

The PC Itself

Everything you do within your game is dependent on the actual PC. If you do not have the best processor and features here, you will not have a great experience. To start off increasing a gaming computer setup then, you want to compare pre-built pcs or the components you need to build your own.

When choosing a pre-built model, be sure to look at the specs carefully. The most important components tend to be the processor, with the Intel and AMD options the most common for gaming because they are fast and reliable. You should get a system with at least 4 cores, but it is typically best to aim for up to 16, though you can get a great experience from just about anything in between these areas.

You also need a lot of storage. Aim for between 500 GB and 1 TB of storage. This helps ensure that the system can run quickly enough and is not slowed down by the drive. Do not go below 256 GB of storage. It will slow you down so much that it will impact your overall experience.

The next consideration for the PC itself is the graphics card. You will find that many of today’s gaming systems are sold with a processor that has an integrated graphics card. That can be a good option for most needs, but you can also upgrade to a higher graphics card if you want better options. It is important to choose those that can run at a higher resolution without slowing you down.

For the full gaming pc setup that you control, you can build your own pc. This is a good option for those who want more control over the individualized components or those that are just not happy with the current options they have and want to upgrade. A good thing about desktops is that they tend to be a lot easier to upgrade than any laptop. If you are tech-savvy, feel free to build your own. However, for those that want something ready to go, Lenovo can help you to get gaming faster.

Consider the Monitor

While you will want to spend as much time as possible on the actual processor and features, it is just as important to consider the monitor. Monitors are not just displays. They can help to immerse you in the experience of gaming while providing exceptional quality color and resolution. Spend some time researching your options to be sure you are getting the very best monitor possible.

What matters when you are trying to create the ultimate gaming setup? Consider the refresh rate, which can make a big difference in the quality of your experience. Look for a 144 Hz or a 240 Hz whenever possible. The higher, the better, though you will not notice a huge difference between these two options.

You also want to consider the resolution. Some people want the very best. Currently, that commonly is a 4K system. However, you do not need to go that high. You may find that the average 1080p monitor, though, is not going to contribute to your overall gaming experience and satisfaction. Choose the highest resolution possible that fits into your budget for the best overall results.

Next, look for an IPS panel. This type of format is important because it can contribute directly to your game time experience. It can also be a much better performing option than the NP options on the market.

Also, ask yourself what is important when it comes to your monitor. You may want to play as a professional, which means you do want to invest in the highest quality resolution and features. On the other hand, you may want a budget-friendly option because you are not planning to be heavily into gaming. For those that want the best experience possible, start with the features mentioned here, such as the refresh rate, IPS design, and a good overall level of resolution.

You may want to take things one step further. For those who want the very best in immersive play, upgrading to a curved monitor may be a good decision. Curved monitors, especially those with a tight curve, can provide you with exceptional immersion into the game. Curved monitors do cost a bit more, but they can be well worth it for those who are serious game players. Often, the curved monitor can help to provide you with an almost three-dimensional feel. That is going to help you get into your game more fully. Keep in mind that the best options are a tight curve with good resolution.

Your Keyboard

There are often a lot of things to think about when buying a gaming keyboard. The best gaming pc setup is going to have a specific gaming keyboard that is designed to provide a higher level of functionality based on your gaming goals. One of the mistakes some people make is spending everything they have on their PC and monitor and not putting enough into their keyboard. Find a mid-range or better option to get the best overall comfort and play quality.

There are a lot of things to consider here. For example, you want a durable frame. You also want dedicated media controls built into the system. Some people like the use of customizable profiles. You may also want to check out those that offer programmable RGB lighting.

Most important here is that it is a fast-moving and fast response time keyboard. You do not want it to cause you delays in your game. Look for full-sized variants that fit your needs. It is also good to invest in a model designed for better ergonomics, especially if you are likely to spend a lot of time gaming (that will help minimize fatigue and increase performance).

Other Components to the Best Setup

As you think about the options and formulate gaming desk setup ideas, there are a few more things to keep in mind.

• Your mouse: A gaming mouse is a must for nearly all players. With the added functionality of these devices, it is easy for you to get the very best performance in your game. There are lots of variations available. Look for those that offer a number of programmable buttons and adjustable weight so that you get the type of gameplay you want. You can also find some pretty affordable options.
• Your headset: Look for an immersive headset. This is likely to have built-in speakers that offer great sound quality and a well-designed mic with clear, easy communications. Look for those that offer a range of features that can help you to become immersed in your gameplay. For many, a comfortable headset is a must for the very best results.
• Your mousepad: It is important to choose a quality mousepad for your needs. It is one of the least expensive options, but you still need something that can work on all surfaces and allows you to have an easy movement.
