Lenovo’s Global Week of Service
Difference Makers for our Communities
Lenovo staff around the world participated in more than 40 community service projects around the world in 26 countries as part of the company’s second annual Global Week of Service, April 23-27.
At one of its global headquarters in Morrisville, NC on April 24 Lenovo hosted 80 Triangle-area, high school students who participate in national nonprofit NAF programming. Lenovo and NAF are longtime partners, working together to help young people be future ready, particularly in STEM field careers. Employees and NAF students conducted mock interviews and had career conversations. This summer, more than 60 area NAF students will work at Lenovo as interns across many of our business units, following last year’s first ever NAF summer intern program that employed 25 students.
Following Tuesday’s NAF event, Wednesday through Friday, Lenovo employees participated with partner the Kramden Institute in “Geek-A-Thons” to refurbish 150 PCs that will be donated to deserving families. Middle school students from four area schools volunteered with Lenovo staff.
