About Lenovo Connect

What is Lenovo Connect?

Lenovo Connect is a cellular connectivity service. Lenovo Connect is integrated into Windows 10 to offer you prepaid data plans directly from the native Mobile Plans App

Can I make calls?

Our SIM only provides data, you will not receive a phone number. You can still make calls using a VOIP program such as Skype.

How can I check my balance?

Your balance will be displayed in the Network menu when you are connected to the Cellular Network.

Note: to see the balance in the Windows menu, you need to be in a location where the data plan is valid, and to be connected using your Lenovo Connect SIM card.

Do I need to create an account?

Yes, depending on your Windows 10 version you will need either a Microsoft Account or a Lenovo Connect account to be able to purchase data plans. After clicking on this link in the network bar,

What is a recurring data plan?

A Recurring data plan is a subscription plan that will renew automatically and allows a certain amount of data to be used over a specific time period in a particular location (country or group of countries)

How can I buy a data plan?

I do not have any allowance left, do I need Wi-Fi to be able to buy another data plan?

No, using the Mobile Plans App or the Lenovo Connect Selfcare to purchase data plans can be done even when you do not have any data left. Still, due to a Windows 10 issue, you might not be able to access your Lenovo Connect Account in the Mobile Plans app without Wi-Fi. Until this bug is fixed, please connect directly to the Selfcare using your browser, instead of using the Mobile Plans App:

How can I receive an invoice?

Depending on where you purchased the data plan, you will receive a payment ticket from us or from Microsoft

What payment methods can I use?

As explained here, you can pay using a Lenovo Connect account or a Microsoft account, depending on your Windows 10 version. If you are purchasing with an Lenovo Connect account, we sell plans in USD, and accept various credit cards as well as Paypal.


Why is the Miix LTE set to use Roaming?

Your Lenovo Connect SIM card works through specific roaming agreements with operators worldwide. To be able to connect, roaming must be allowed on your Miix 630. Do not worry about roaming charges, all our data plans are Pay-As-You-Go, you'll never have to pay additional charges. To allow roaming on your device, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Cellular and check the data roaming option:

I bought a data plan but I do not see my balance in the App

If the balance of your data plan is not showing in the app or in the network menu, it might be because:

  • You are in a location or country not covered by the data plan
  • Your allowance has expired or been used up
  • You are in an area with weak signal. Displaying the balance requires connectivity.

There is no service

If this is your first connection, it might take a few minutes for the SIM to connect. Make sure that your location is covered by our services here. Move your device beside a window or an open area in order to receive a better signal. If nothing happens try the following troubleshooting:

  • Verify that roaming is allowed in the Windows settings
  • In the network bar, switch to plane mode, then activate Cellular Again
  • Restart your device
Connect No Service

I do not see the link to the App in the network bar

You need to be connected to the Cellular Network to see the link. If this is your first connection, it may take a few minutes for the SIM to be identified. If the link still does not appear, you can access the Lenovo Connect Selfcare from your browser, at the following address:

The device is asking me to enter a PIN, PIN 2 or PUK code, or to enter an APN

Try to deactivate and reactivate Cellular, and also restarting the device. If this didn’t help, please contact our Customer Service.
