Infrastructure made simple
The SN550 is a highly capable compute node that is part of Lenovo’s Flex System blade server architecture. Blade server systems allow for the pooling of system resources; power, cabling, management, networking, and cooling resources are all shared as a function of the blade chassis (see Lenovo Flex System Enterprise Chassis). The blade architecture saves on OPEX costs and allows for optimal server density, positioning Flex System well for both resource- and space-constrained environments.
Next-generation memory technology
Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory delivers a new, flexible tier of memory designed specifically for data center workloads that offers an unprecedented combination of high capacity, affordability and persistence. This technology will have a significant impact on real-world data center operations, reduction of restart times from minutes down to seconds, 1.2x virtual machine density, dramatically improved data replication with 14x lower latency and 14x higher IOPS, and greater security for persistent data built into hardware.*

Workload optimized support
New second-generation Intel® Xeon® Processor Scalable family CPUs offer increased performance of 36% over the previous generation*, support for faster 2933MHz TruDDR4 memory, and Intel’s Vector Neural Network Instruction (VNNI) which accelerates processor performance on Deep Learning and AI workloads. Up to 6% increases in per-core performance and hardware security mitigations round out the enhanced capabilities featured in this next-generation processor technology from Intel.*

Lenovo XClarity Administrator is a virtualized application that centrally manages ThinkSystem servers, storage, and networking, which can reduce provisioning time up to 95% versus manual operation. Running XClarity Integrator helps you streamline IT management, speed provisioning, and contain costs by seamlessly integrating XClarity into an existing IT environment.
