Need to recall an email? Sent the wrong attachment? You can recall or unsend an email by using the Outlook recall function. To recall an Outlook email, first open the Sent Items folder and locate the email you want to recall. Next right-click on it, then select “Recall This Message” from the menu. You can then choose from two options to using either delete or replace the message for all recipients. If the email recall is successful, you will receive a notification in your inbox “The recall succeeded.”
Using the Outlook recall function it's possible to recall an email in Outlook as long as it has not been read. To recall the email message, you need to open the Sent Items folder and find the email you want to recall. Right-click on it and select “Recall This Message” from the menu. You can now choose to either delete the email or replace it with a new message. You should also select the checkbox that says “Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient” - this will prevent a notification from being sent to the user that you've recalled their message. If successful, a notification will appear that states “The recall succeeded”; make sure to check before closing Outlook.
When you recall an email in Outlook there is an option to replace the message being recalled and replaced with a new one. To do this, open the Sent Items folder and locate the message you want to recall. Right-click on it, then select “Recall This Message” from the menu. Choose to replace the message with a new one and make sure that the box “Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient” is unchecked. When everything is set up, hit send - if all goes well, your message will be safely recalled without anyone being alerted of your action. Some recipients may receive notifications regarding a failed recall attempt if their mailboxes were opened when you attempted to recall it.
Recalling an email in Outlook typically takes a few minutes to complete. To start the process first open the Sent Items folder and locate the message you want to recall. Right-click on it, then select “Recall This Message” from the menu. After selecting whether you want to replace the recalled message with a new one, hit send. Within minutes, your action should be completed - however, if the email has already been read you will not be able to recall it, recipients who have already read the note may receive a message notifying them that message has been recalled.
To recall an email sent to Gmail in Outlook, first open the Sent Folder and locate the message you want to recall. Right-click on it and select “Recall This Message” from the menu. You'll then need to select whether you want to replace the recalled message with a new one, and make sure that the box “Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient” is checked. Once everything is set up correctly, hit send - within minutes your action should be completed, though some recipients may receive an alert stating that their mailboxes were opened at the time of sending.
To recall an email from Outlook on iPhone, go to the Sent folder and find the message you want to recall. Tap and hold it until a menu appears, then select “Recall This Message”. You will then be able to select whether or not you want to replace the recalled message with a new one and hit send. It typically takes just a few minutes for your action to complete - however, depending on when the email was read and whether Outlook was open when you attempted the recall, some recipients may receive an alert stating that their mailboxes were opened at the time of sending.
If you want to recall an email in Outlook but there isn't an "Action" button, first open the Sent folder and locate the message you want to recall. Right-click on it and select “Recall This Message” from the menu. You'll then need to select whether you want to replace the recalled message with a new one, and make sure that the box “Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient” is checked. Once everything is set up correctly, hit send - within minutes your action should be completed, although some recipients may receive an alert informing them that their mailboxes were opened at the time of sending.

Once everything is set, click on 'Send' - it usually takes no more than minutes for your action to be executed, although some recipients may receive an alert stating that their mailbox was opened at that time.
Need to recall a message but there is not a message tab in Outlook? Go to the Sent folder and select the message you want to recall. Right-click on it and select “Recall This Message” from the menu.
