Directorate for Agrarian Payments Serbia: Delivering vital financial support to farming communities

The Directorate for Agrarian Payments is responsible for the implementation of Serbia’s agricultural subsidies program. In the past, the Directorate ran its core applications on a traditional three-tier environment, but reliability issues were increasing the risk of operational disruption.

To solve the challenge, the organization engaged technology partner Fractal Dimension to deploy a hyperconverged infrastructure solution from Lenovo and VMware. Based on five Lenovo ThinkAgile VX 5000 Series nodes and powered by VMware vSAN™, the solution doubles application performance, accelerates backups by a factor of seven, and helps to ensure that the IT systems underpinning agricultural subsidies are available 24/7.
