Not that science fiction infinite gas ⛽ Brilliant fusion of kinetic and modular energy systems—😎. Let’s break it down and explore how this concept could evolve into a truly resilient power architecture for next-gen EVs or AR-enabled transport pods: --- ⚙️ Integrated Wind Energy Capture - Side Turbines: Mounted flush with the vehicle’s body, these could exploit laminar airflow at highway speeds. Think micro-vertical axis turbines with magnetic bearings for minimal drag. - Tire Turbines: If embedded within wheel wells or hubcaps, they could harness rotational airflow—though balancing efficiency with weight and safety would be key. - Smart Flow Redirectors: Active aero surfaces could channel wind toward turbines during optimal conditions, then retract or redirect when drag outweighs gain. --- 🔋 Hot Swap + Tertiary Battery System - Primary Batteries (A & B): Alternate between active and charging states. - Tertiary Battery (C): Acts as a buffer, maintaining uninterrupted power during swaps. Could also smooth out voltage fluctuations from wind input. - Swap Logic Controller: AI-driven system that predicts energy needs and orchestrates swaps based on driving patterns, wind conditions, and terrain. --- 🔄 Continuous Energy Loop - Onboard Energy Management: Real-time optimization of turbine output, battery health, and swap timing. - Regenerative Synergy: Combine wind harvesting with braking regen and solar overlays for a multi-source trickle. - Modular Expansion: Add-on turbine pods for long-haul or high-wind regions. Could be detachable or deployable like spoilers. --- 🚀 Bonus Thought: AR-Enhanced Feedback Imagine the Altra Reality Glasses showing real-time turbine output as holographic overlays on the windshield—gamifying eco-efficiency and letting drivers “see” their energy flow. …. Here’s a breakdown of simulated energy yield per hour for your modular vehicle system under different driving conditions: | 🚗 Driving Scenario | ⚡ Energy Yield (kWh/hour) | |--------------------------------|------------- Highway @ 100 km/h | 13.28 City @ 50 km/h (stop/start) | 5.23 Mountain (elevation shifts) | 6.20 Windy Coastal (crosswinds) | 13.05 🔍 What’s Driving These Numbers? - Highway & Coastal: High speeds and strong wind flow supercharge the turbines. Coastal crosswinds add extra kinetic input, nearly matching highway yield. - City Driving: Lower speeds reduce turbine output, but regenerative braking kicks in more frequently—still not enough to match open-road conditions. - Mountain Terrain: Elevation changes offer decent regen braking, but inconsistent wind flow limits turbine efficiency. ⚙️ Assumptions Used ( super capacitor pending, theor - Wind turbine efficiency: 25% - Regenerative braking recovery: 30% - Tertiary battery buffer: 2 kWh/hour - Turbine count: 4 (2 side, 2 tire-mounted) - Swap system maintains seamless power, but doesn’t add yield directly My selfie is included to break the ice as a new member here.

Anthropic just settled a lawsuit for $1,500,000,000 in a large class action suit with several authors who say their work was used and plagiarized by their program. Anthropic pays authors $1.5 billion to settle copyright infringement lawsuit | AP News So, this was a settlement. There are a few reasons someone would settle out of court. Doubt in the odds of winning because of shaky legal footing, not gambling, not worth the legal fees and lawyer hours, or avoiding a major landmark legal decision that would lead to increased scrutiny on the rest of your business practices. If Anthropic had not settled, experts say losing the case after a scheduled December trial could have cost the San Francisco-based company even more money. “We were looking at a strong possibility of multiple billions of dollars, enough to potentially cripple or even put Anthropic out of business,” said William Long, a legal analyst for Wolters Kluwer. One and a half BILLION dollars is a lot of money to lose, especially if you thought you had a chance to win. Why do you think they settled? What does this mean for other creative fields and industries? Will copyrights be respected appropriately? This is Claude. Is Claude the worst offender here? The settlement could influence other disputes, including an ongoing lawsuit by authors and newspapers against OpenAI and its business partner Microsoft, and cases against Meta and Midjourney. And just as the Anthropic settlement terms were filed, another group of authors sued Apple on Friday in the same San Francisco federal court. “This indicates that maybe for other cases, it’s possible for creators and AI companies to reach settlements without having to essentially go for broke in court,” Is this Justice? Is this a crack in the fortress? Will it change business practices or anything? Is the word better today?

Hey friends! As a full-time YouTuber (@Metatera), with nearly 20 million views and 75,000 subscribers, I've learned some crucial lessons while growing my gaming channel over the last three years. Here are the top five mistakes to avoid: 1. Don’t just focus on your favorite game! Sticking to one game can limit your content. Instead, choose a gaming niche (like platformers) for more creative freedom. 2. You don’t need hyper editing. Many successful YouTubers, such as VideoGameDunkey, thrive with simple editing. Focus on your ideas rather than fancy effects. I became monetized in less than six months using basic editing skills. 3. There’s no “easy mode” to success. Enjoy the entire content creation process. I faced setbacks early on, but those failures taught me valuable lessons. Remember, “You haven't truly failed unless you decide to quit.” 4. You’ll spend more time making videos than playing games. Editing takes up a lot of your time, especially coupled with live streaming. But with experience, you’ll gain valuable skills that will help you stand out and help find the "You" in "YouTube." 🙂 5. Be yourself. Don’t mimic other YouTubers; it leads to inauthenticity. Prioritize self-care and take breaks! The myth that the algorithm punishes you for relaxing is false, despite how many Reddit rabbitholes you may go down. Also, YouTube never gives up on any video. It may take weeks or years for a video to find it's audience, but once it does, and if the value is there, it can blow up overnight (that's why you sometimes see random videos from 5 years ago show in your recommended). Think of every video you make as another member of your team. Eventually, you'll have 100 workers helping expose your channel to audiences 24/7. Not all will work equally, but all it takes is one standout to start exponential growth!

There’s a lot of advice out there about Twitch Goals. I’ve noticed a lot of talk about setting new Twitch goals from big and small streamers alike. I’ve also noticed a lot of different opinions on what “good” goal-setting looks like, and debate over whether setting goals even matters at all. Just the other day, #ResolutionsGuaranteedToFail and #ResolutionsAreMayhem were trending on Twitter. With so many different ideas out there, I set out to find out a few things: Does goal-setting matter? If so, what kinds of goals are best? What kinds of goals are best for Twitch Streamers in particular? I'm no expert at all on goals, but after looking through a lot of research, this is what I found. Does Goal Setting Matter? In a word – yes. Actually, it matters a lot. Hundreds of studies have shown conclusively that people who set goals outperform those who don’t, in every environment. School, athletics, business – setting goals is helpful to every area. In fact, the most accepted piece of research I found through this whole study was that, if nothing else, you should at least set SOME goal, regardless of what it is. Even vague goals are more helpful then no goals at all. With that said, the types of goals you set do make a difference. What Types of Goals Are Most Effective? Research shows that when setting goals for yourself, you will be most successful with goals that are: Long-Term AND Short-Term Studies have found that long-term and short-term goals are both effective for motivation. The best solution is to incorporate both types of goals into your strategy (and even medium-term, if you’re feeling frisky). Make sure to use both types! With only short-term goals, you’ll feel like you aren’t going anywhere in the future; with only long-term goals, you’ll feel like you’re not making any notable progress. Controllable To sum up this idea, researchers say that you have to be able to answer the “how.” How are you going to accomplish your goal? What specifically can you control? If you have a goal based on numbers like followers or friends, be sure to work out how you can reach that goal with actionable strategies, not blind hope. More on this later. Meaningful “Even though the goals may be SMART, if [subjects] don’t perceive them as meaningful or valued, their engagement with goal attainment progress will diminish” (Turkay) Be sure that your goal means something to you. Think about the why behind the what! Specific In many studies, researchers found that specific, measurable goals were far more effective than broad generalizations. Additionally, the more specific a goal, the more (generally) that it was likely to be completed. For example, consider these three goals: Okay – I will stream more Better – I will stream once a week Best – I will stream every Wednesday Challenging This one was my favorite. There are a good number of studies that stress the importance of a challenge for making meaningful goals. It’s all about the payoff! Researchers found that when subjects set goals slightly outside their comfort range (but not absurd), subjects were both more motivated and more likely to achieve those goals. Plus, they were happier when they succeeded. Okay, but how does this relate to Twitch? Good question. Let’s take two extremely common Twitch Goals, and look at how they line up with these ideas. Goal #1: I want to be a partner This is by far the biggest goal I see for Twitch streamers, and with good cause. Partnership is sweet. If you’re looking to really push for partner, you need to think of partnership as more of a vision than a goal. Make it something that you one day see yourself achieving. For setting actual goals, it’s a better idea to look at the specific requirements for making partner. What’s required for Partnership on Twitch: Stream for 25 hours in the last 30 days This is a great goal. Specific, measurable, controllable, short-term, and (most likely) challenging. Also meaningful, since it falls under the umbrella of partnership. Stream for 12 unique days in the last 30 days Same thing here. Meets all the requirements. Reach 75 average viewers in the last 30 days This is where it gets tricky. Reaching 75 average viewers is something that you don’t have control over. It meets all of the other requirements, but since you don’t have direct control over it, it’s not a good goal. Instead, it’s a better idea to break this requirement down into a sub-goal that you can control There’s a lot of different ways you could do this – meet 5 new streamers a day, send a message to 5 followers a day, etc. The how is up to you. Just make sure it’s something you can control! Goal #2: I want to be an affiliate It’s sort of surprising that so many people have Partner as a goal, when they aren’t even affiliates yet! If you’re a new streamer (or just not affiliated yet), getting Affiliate should be your #1 goal on Twitch. Unlike Partnership, Affiliate is a much more controllable goal. What’s required for Affiliation on Twitch: Stream for 8 hours in the last 30 days EZPZ. Checks off every box on our list. Stream for 7 unique days in the last 30 days Ditto. Reach 3 average viewers in the last 30 days This is less controllable, but at such a low number, you can arguably control this goal by creating a simple sub-goal. Example: ask 3 friends to come to the stream each time you go live. Instead of relying on spontaneous viewers, you control the requirement. Reach 50 followers Again, less controllable than stream time, but still not too bad. Remember to focus on a small sub-goal that can help you achieve this. Example: Instead of waiting for people to follow, connect & interact with 50 other streamers (one per day) to drive progress yourself. The difference between Partner and Affiliate is how difficult it is to reach that concurrent viewer mark. In terms of control, it’s much more feasible to ask 3 friends to come watch your stream than 75. Setting Twitch Goals This Year If you take nothing else away from this post, at least set yourself a goal on Twitch. Twitch Goals are a great way to set yourself apart from the competition, and also a good way to stay motivated when things get tough. Make sure to set goals that are Short-Term and Long-Term. If you’re aiming for Partnership, I recommend that you also set yourself some sub-goals that you can achieve more quickly. Partnership is definitely a long-term kind of goal, and usually a lot longer than people think What are your goals on Twitch? Keep in mind that you don't need some insane goal as a streamer. Be realistic about why you are a streamer. If you want nothing more than to build a fun little community, there's nothing wrong with that!

"How do I stream on Twitch?" We've seen tons of people asking for tips on this, so today I'm happy to announce our first "Streaming 101" guide! This initial guide will focus on helping you get the technical aspects of your stream up and running. If you'd like more info on advanced topics like console streaming, branding, and building an audience, be sure to let us know in the comments! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 1: Download Your Streaming Software To stream to Twitch, you'll need the right software. You have two options: OBS Studio StreamLabs OBS I recommend StreamLabs OBS, since it is extremely beginner-friendly. Download & install the program, then be sure to run it to get started. You'll be greeted with this screen: Now, simply sign in with your Twitch account (or other platform of choice). If you don't have an account yet, don't worry - you can create one right from this prompt. After signing in or creating an account, authorize StreamLabs to access your account: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 2: Set Up Your Streaming Software Next, it's time to set up your software. After signing in for the first time, you'll see this screen. Select "start fresh." Next, StreamLabs will check for your mic + webcam. It should automatically find them, if you have them. If not, select the right device from the dropdowns. NOTE - if you don't want to use a webcam or mic, don't worry. We can remove these later. This is just for basic setup. Next you'll see an option to "add a theme." I recommend skipping this step, but if you want, you can select one of the presets: Lastly, the most important part! StreamLabs automatically optimizes your stream so it looks good for your viewers. Click "start" here, and watch the magic happen. Once the optimization is complete, StreamLabs will ask you about multistreaming - skip this for now. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 3: Add Streaming Layout Elements Now that your basic streaming configuration is complete, you're ready to set up your stream layout. Here's what you should see in StreamLabs OBS: For most people, there are 3 main things you'll need to set up: 1. Your gameplay. 2. Your webcam. 3. Your audio. Note that all three of these are optional - if you don't want to include one, you don't have to. Many streamers start without a webcam, or never use one at all. This even goes for gameplay - if you'd rather sit and talk with chat, that's an option! Part 1 - Gameplay Setup How to set up your gameplay depends on the game you are playing. For most PC games, you'll want to choose Add Source > Game Capture If you play a Fullscreen game application like Apex Legends, League of Legends, Fortnite, Call of Duty, or countless others, this is the correct setup method. First, make sure to have your game of choice open on your PC, and make sure it is set to "Fullscreen" in the game settings area. To start, click the "+" icon in "Sources" area: Next, select "Game Capture" from the popup prompt, then click "add source" in the bottom right: Next, click the "Mode" dropdown and select "Capture specific window instead of "Auto". Lastly, click the "Window" option, and select your game: And presto, your gameplay appears! Click done, and you should see gameplay in the preview window. NOTE - for some games, you may need to add a window capture instead, or in addition. For browser-based games, or for game client views (like this picture), you'll need to do this same process, but select "Window Capture" instead of "Game Capture." If you need help here, leave me a comment and I will help! Part 2: Webcam Setup Now, you're ready to add your webcam. This is much easer. To start, click the "+" icon in the "Sources" area again, then select "Add Source:" Name the source anything you like. Next, your webcam should automatically be selected. If not, select the correct device from the "Device" dropdown. Then, click "Done." Your webcam should now appear in the preview area! Use the box frame tools to resize and position the camera to your liking. This is usually a good spot for most games: Part 3: Audio Setup Last step! This is the easiest step. Make sure that your microphone and desktop audio can be heard on stream. To check this, simply play some background noise on your PC (Spotify or YouTube videos), and talk into your mic. Then, take a look at these two bars: If you see movement for both of these bars (you should), you're good to go. If not, be sure to check the devices selected by clicking the "Gear" icon below each bar. NOTE - try to tweak the audio levels so that your microphone is louder than your game sound/music. You want your viewers to be able to hear you! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 4: Start Streaming! You're set up and ready to go! To start streaming, click on the "Go Live" button in the bottom right: Then, fill out the fields for "Title," "Game," "Tags," and select the "select optimized encoder settings" option. NOTE - for "Tags," don't worry too much about finding great tags. For your first stream, just select simple tags like "Multiplayer" or "PvP." Then, click "Confirm and Go Live" to start your broadcast! You're Live! During the broadcast, be sure to pay attention to your Chat Window, and keep an eye on your Viewer Count. TIP - for your first streams, be sure to ask some friends to check out your channel via social media. Getting new viewers takes a while - start with your existing friends & family. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Congrats! You can now stream on Twitch! I hope you found this guide helpful. If you have any difficulty streaming, please feel free to comment here, and I'll do my best to help. Also - if you'd like advanced guides on console streaming, stream alerts, and building an audience, let me know in the replies! If this is received well, I'd love to do more :) --- Be sure to check out some of the talented Legion Community streamers for inspiration on your own content!

How do you use AI without losing your own creative style?

Blog
Other

I’ve been thinking about how AI can help with creative work without making everything feel too generic.

For me, the best use is brainstorming, organizing ideas, or getting past the blank page. But I still think the final direction, tone, and personal taste should come from the creator.

How do you use AI tools while still keeping your own style?

View 2 more replies

I only use AI to give myself an idea of different practical things, otherwise I ask for its help when I can't put something together.

I use AI like a search engine, or for proofreading my resume/cover sheets. I don't use it to create anything new, only to make something better or for information.

What Technology Do You Think Is Solving a Problem Nobody Has?

Is there a current trend or product category that seems innovative but doesn't address a meaningful consumer need?

Some technologies may improve access to knowledge, but they cannot replace personal growth. Education also requires effort, patience, resilience, and learning from mistakes. Overreliance on technology may weaken these qualities, making maturity and perseverance decline across younger generations despite greater information access.

And for the second question, for me Xbox Game Pass and similar are a lie that makes you a huge acces to videogames but people pay for many many games when not exist material time to play all of them and that same thing makes that you are not enjoying a videogame on the past as we use to do it when we had 1 or 2 per year: we use to play and replay the games a lot of times becouse we didnt had another... and that made that videogames were much funnier than today.

Why dont Lenovo add Linux & Windows on their Computers ?

Michael,

This is a great suggestion! I would like Google Operating System as a nice choice with windows!

A - R

Lenovo does offer Linux options on their laptops but this tends to be for the Business lines ThinkPad (T, X, and P series). And variants that are tightly controlled for supportability.

Rolling your own puts you on your own. Linux is a wide ecosystem with many variants. Shipping a laptop and then expecting the company to support any variant of your choice on their hardware is a cost they’re not willing to take on.

I use my PS5 more as a Blu-ray player than a gaming console lately, so it looks like the PS5 will most likely be the last PlayStation I ever buy now that they're moving towards digital-only.

Slate truck. I currently have a 30 year old Ford Ranger pickup that I'm looking to replace. It's just an around town vehicle so the Slate truck is perfect. I registered for the Slate preorder, but haven't ordered yet. My state has incentive for purchasing electric vehicles, but they require going through a dealer registered with the state. So far Slate is just doing the direct sales model, so I wouldn't be eligible for the incentives. I'm hoping they work something out.

GenAI crammed into every app. Take copilot for example. Most of the time i don't want or need it to prompt me to use it. If Ive already setup a excel sheet to generate power shell etc one liner commands then i don’t need copilot pinging away. And i don’t trust it with valuable data Ive gathered for analysis either.

Who do you think will lead the graphics card community in 10 years?

This is just a community debate, but I think NVIDIA.

Who knows will there be any tech for the average person maybe the government's will start trying to keep it for themselves

Pj,

A lot can happen in the computer industry in 10 years. There seems to have been a definite pivot among many players away from the home user in recent years.

Currently there's an overlap between gaming and datacentre/AI technology. If that overlap diminishes I wouldn't be surprised if Nvidia abandoned the home market.

Despite having a much smaller share of the graphics card market AMD seems far more embedded (consoles and handhelds) in the gaming scene.

I expect Nvidia will still be at the top, but I also wouldn't be too surprised if AMD has overtaken them for gpus in 10 years time.

I started with little things like drinking more water , a 30 minuet workout a day , being more mindful of what I'm eating. Then did things like changing my hair , get a better skin care routine , buying clothes that I feel more confident in. As for personality , I don't really do anything to change that it's who I am. just tweak what I might usually say but not often.

5 minutes exercise first thing in the morning, outside, soaking up the sun's rays. Before any breakfast, cook 150g mushrooms, add half a teaspoon of rice wine vinegar and sea salt. Eat. Then you can have breakfast after of whatever you want.

Make goals for your day. What you want to achieve. Tick off at the end of the day what you have done. Even small tasks done as you intended provide a positive feeling of accomplishment. Even mundane tasks like washing clothes or doing dishes. Write it all down and tick off everything you have done.

That really depends on what sort of AI work you will be doing. If you are mostly using cloud models, then anything is fine, but if you want local models, I'd consider a Legion

Does the legion come in a laptop

How has the introduction of AI been helpful or detrimental to your writing workflow? I'd imagine its better for finding a lot of synonyms but ive found that machine-written text can be a mouthful and the style it spits out is recognizable

I find AI most useful after I already have a rough idea. It helps me organize the text and improve wording, but I still rewrite the final version so it sounds like me.

It’s good at hyphenating lol

Like others here, probably Artemis...

I suppose watching Artemis II launch, seeing the videos and images of the astronauts from the back of the Moon, and then watching the capsule return and splash down was pretty exciting. 🚀👨‍🚀
