Convergence
Built with top performance and convergence in mind, the Lenovo RackSwitch G8264CS is ideal for today’s big data, cloud and optimized workloads looking to exploit the advantages of Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) today or in the future. Omni Ports give clients the flexibility to choose 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) or 8 Gb FC for upstream connections and convenient access to FC storage. The G8264CS helps consolidate storage, networking, data, and management on a simple-to-manage single fabric which reduces costs associated with acquisition, energy, cooling, management and maintenance.
Building Clusters
For Flex System™ environments, the G8264CS can help simplify I/O connectivity and management with Flex System Interconnect Fabric (using SI4093 modules). A simple Ethernet fabric is designed to connect up to nine Flex System chassis’ with the G8264CS as the master/slave Layer 2 device and single point of management.
The G8264CS supports VMready® technology, an innovative, standards-based solution to manage virtual machines (VMs) in small to large-scale data center and cloud environments.
Performance & Availability
The G8264CS is an enterprise-class and full-featured data center switch that delivers line-rate, high-bandwidth switching, filtering, and traffic queuing without delaying data. It includes 36 x SFP+ 10 GbE ports, 12 Omni Ports for 10 GbE/8 Gb FC plus 4 x QSFP+ 40 GbE ports in a flexible 1U switch. The SFP+ ports support SFP 1 GbE if needed, while the four QSFP+ ports can add up to 16 additional SFP+ ports via breakout cables. Redundant hot-swap power and fans along with numerous high availability features equip the switch for business-sensitive traffic.
