The Lenovo RackSwitch G7028 is an inexpensive entry-level Layer 2 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) switch that is designed for the enterprise edge in the data center, small or medium-sized business, and remote office environments where clients are looking for an economical 1 Gb and 10 Gb connectivity solution.
The G7028 with its twenty-four 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 ports and four 10 GbE SFP+ ports standard is a great entry switch in a 1U form factor. The G7028 delivers exceptional performance with its non-blocking, wire-speed switching cut-through architecture and is designed for those looking for cost-effective 1 GbE Layer 2 switching solutions with the ability to easily transition to 10 GbE.
With the growing focus on energy efficiency, the G7028 typically uses only 45 W of power. It is also designed with rear-to-front airflow (ports in the rear matching most server and storage ports), which allows for flexible mounting of the switch in a rack cabinet and provides convenient cable management and significant savings in cooling costs with better hot and cold-aisle management.
The G7028 can easily be managed via an industry-standard command-line interface (isCLI) or browser-based graphical user interface (GUI). In addition, clients have the peace of mind knowing the G7028 comes with a limited 3-year hardware warranty with Next Business Day (NBD), 9x5, Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) warranty service. Optional warranty and maintenance upgrades are available.
The G7028 is designed for high availability. For those clients wanting more, an optional external Redundant Power Supply is available with support for up to four RackSwitch G7028 or G7052 switches.
