Don’t wait to buy

If you purchase a Lenovo laptop or desktop with an eligible1 Windows Vista® version between June 26, 2009 and January 31, 20102, Lenovo will mail you a FREE license upgrade to Windows 7.

This offer applies to individuals and companies who plan to buy less than 25 PCs. Larger organizations should take advantage of Microsoft's Volume Licensing for their license upgrades.

Eligible versions*

Upgrades are based on the licensed Windows Vista version and language3 you receive when you buy your PC as shown in the following table:

*PLEASE NOTE THAT WINDOWS XP DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE FREE WINDOWS 7 UPGRADE PROGRAM.

 


Program details for 25 PCs or less


Lenovo’s FREE Windows 7 upgrade program is limited to 25 per customer

Upgrades must be requested individually for each PC. Each upgrade kit will be mailed separately and contain:

  • Windows 7 Certificate of Authenticity
  • Windows 7 OS Upgrade DVD
  • Lenovo Drivers / Apps DVD4
  • Instructions on how to upgrade the operating system

Please note that here is no automatic entitlement; customers must manually input the product number, serial number and date of purchase of all PCs to validate the entitlement and order the upgrade.

Program details for over 25 PCs


Get significant cost savings with Microsoft Volume Licensing

Customers with over 25 PCs to any single Ship-To address can take advantage of Microsoft Volume Licensing and Software Assurance to obtain rights to upgrade to Windows 7. Specific aspects of this program include:

  • Operating system upgrades are a benefit offered through Software Assurance for Windows Client
  • Upgrades are fulfilled directly by Microsoft
  • Customer invoice date is not relevant
