LENOVO INDIA STRENGTHENS RETAIL FOOTPRINT WITH 14 STORES IN JAMMU AND KASHMIR

Lenovo is the largest exclusive PC retailer in India

Jammu, May 30, 2012– Lenovo, India’s No. 1 PC maker (according to the latest IDC/Asia Pacific Quarterly PC Tracker Q1 CY 2012), announced the launch of 14 exclusive stores in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K). With a strong focus on offering world class products to consumers across the length and breadth of the country, Lenovo has been expanding its exclusive retail footprint to become the country’s largest exclusive PC retailer. This new set of stores is in sync with the company’s overall strategy to drive hyper growth in this segment by tapping into high potential tier 2-5 cities across India.

Having established a stronghold in the metros, low PC penetration in the hinterland offers a huge opportunity for growth. Lenovo will continue to penetrate the length and breadth of the country to address the diverse computing needs of its customers.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Dhar, General Manager (North), Lenovo India said, “We are impressed by the growth and potential of the PC industry here. Lenovo has partnered with Digitus Electronics, Sheikh Enterprises and Digital Zone for these 14 exclusive stores. The stores in J&K will be Lenovo’s growth engines and will significantly help the company to address the burgeoning PC requirements of consumers in this market.

The stores offer a world-class brand experience and are located in some of J&K’s prime locations- Bahu Plaza, Kachi Chhawani, Gandhi Nagar, Kathua, Sambha, Katram Udhampur, Vijaypur, Bypass Channi Road, Haidarpura, Pulwama, Roopnagar, Anantnag and Leh. The average store is spread across 350 sq feet and displays all products ranging from Lenovo notebooks, netbooks, all-in-ones, tablets and ultrabooks. Some of the key products include: Lenovo IdeaPad Z570, Lenovo IdeaPad Z370, Lenovo IdeaPad G570, Lenovo IdeaCentre B320, Lenovo IdeaCentre C320, Lenovo IdeaPad tablet K1, Lenovo Ultrabook U300s, ThinkPad and ThinkCentre series.
