IBM India today announced the availability of its entry level, notebook, the
IBM ThinkPad R50e priced at Rs. 43,990/-
. Targeting the small and medium businesses and the SOHO(Small office Home office) segment, a growing market with a large number of mobility aspirers.
The
IBM ThinkPad R50e
offers customers a complete mobile computing experience. Unlike the other notebooks available in the marketplace at this price point, the IBM ThinkPad R50e is a fully configured notebook with optimum memory, hard disk capacity, cache and ready to use Windows Operating system and a CDR/W/DVD optical drive.
The new IBM ThinkPad R50e notebook, combined with the innovative design provides value for money; and allows mobility and flexibility at the workplace and at home. The ThinkPad R50e weighs lighter at 3 kgs and is equipped with the latest ThinkVantage technologies, - a set of software and hardware tools, available only on IBM PCs - at no additional cost. The function of these technology offerings is to help users save date, time and money.

The new R50e notebooks come with: Intel Celeron 1.4 GHz chip, Windows XP Home as Operating System; a CD R/W/DVD ROM Combo optical drive; 256 MB memory which means there is no need to upgrade later and pay more, 15” TFT Screen, Hard Disk shock absorber, Thinklight (a work in the dark option) and a carry case.
These products will be available with immediate effect and can be purchased through IBM India's Business Partner network and ibm.com.
