Lenovo chooses Brazil as its command operations center in Latin America
Dan Stone, current President of the company in Brazil, takes the lead of the businesses in Latin American market
São Paulo, January 09th, 2013 - Lenovo, the largest PCs manufacturer in Brazil and in the world, announces the centralization of its regional businesses in Brazil. With the new structure, the current President of the company in Brazil, Dan Stone, expands the company’s activities and starts to respond for Latin America operations. Before, the activities were divided between Brazil and the other neighboring countries.
In addition to Stone, the Brazilian team counts on two new regional leaders, with Humberto De Biase, who became the Marketing Executive Director for Latin America, and Thais Marcondes, who is now senior strategy, market intelligence manager and head of Latin America team.
The new structure reflects the importance and the growth of Lenovo in the country. "In the last two years, I focused on increasing business to new levels in Brazil. During this period, we achieved substantial results in the past 12 months, including the acquisition and integration of CCE into our family, increasing our manufacturing capacity and becoming the number 1 PCs company in the country. I'm looking forward to the challenge of growth based on the excellent work carried out by the Latin America teams, "said Dan Stone, Lenovo's Vice President and General Manager for Latin America.
Currently, Lenovo Brazil counts on about five thousand employees. With the acquisition of CCE in 2012, the company strengthened strategically its production line in Brazil, in addition to having extended the number of sales points. In January 2013, the computer manufacturer inaugurated one of the most modern computer plants in the world, in Itu, São Paulo country side.
