Telstra combines forces with Lenovo to deliver a Telstra Mobile Broadband and laptop bundle for businesses

Sydney, Wednesday 5 July, 2006 - Telstra and Lenovo today announced a Telstra Mobile Broadband ® package with laptop and wireless modem specifically developed for small and medium business users who need a reliable and durable notebook solution, as well as high speed mobile broadband access in Telstra's 1xEV-DO coverage areas.

The bundled offer from Telstra includes a choice of four eligible laptops including the Lenovo ThinkPad ® R60 or Lenovo™ 3000 C100 laptop with a free Port Replicator, connection to an eligible Telstra Mobile Broadband PC Pack plan on a 24 month contract providing users with a minimum of 20 hours/month of eligible 1xEV-DO and CDMA1x data usage anywhere within Telstra’s extensive wireless data network, a Telstra Mobile Broadband modem included at no additional charge, PLUS a three month network access fee credit.

According to Ms Elizabeth Aris, Managing Director, Telstra Business, the bundled offer would be attractive for small and medium sized businesses that are focussed on improving their efficiency and productivity and need to remain competitive and responsive with fast, real time access to time critical information – anytime and anywhere in Telstra's Mobile Broadband 1xEV-DO coverage areas.

"Small and medium sized businesses are more cost focussed than ever, but they're also looking for ways to make new technology work for them. This package provides them with a simple bundled solution that delivers the flexibility of mobile computing, with the convenience of high speed mobile broadband access in our 1xEV-DO coverage area with speeds at 10 times faster than that of regular dial-up modems," Ms Elizabeth Aris said.

The Lenovo ThinkPad comes with a complete range of ThinkVantage ® Technology system management tools including simplified management of the PC, one button virus recovery, easy Wireless Network connection, and automatic driver updates.

Mr Alan Munro, Managing Director, Lenovo (Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd) said: "Telstra Mobile Broadband's wide coverage and high data speeds in its 1xEV-DO network areas adds another impressive feature to our innovative ThinkPad R60 and Lenovo 3000 notebooks and broadens their appeal to the small and medium business customer base."

"The Lenovo ThinkPad R60 notebook also comes with a three year warranty which is an important offering to small business customers and very compelling as the majority of products in this price band only offer a one year warranty," Mr Munro said.

The Telstra Mobile Broadband and laptop bundle offer is available between 4 July and 30 September 2006 to eligible Australian small and medium businesses. Customers can call 1300 557 075 (Freecall) to enquire or to place an order.
