ThinkPlus Maintenance Services

Upgrade your original warranty, or get maintenance service for post-warranty machines.

Which service coverage is right for me? If your ThinkPad® notebook or ThinkCentre? desktop system, or ThinkVision? monitor is still within its original warranty period, then you can upgrade your service with a warranty service upgrade. If your ThinkPad notebook or ThinkCentre desktop system is out of warranty, or you have an existing maintenance service that is about to expire, then post-warranty maintenance is right for you.

ThinkPlus Maintenance Services offer you a variety of service levels. Depending upon the specific machine model/type these may include:
  • depot or on-site service
  • one year increments up to four years
  • next business day up to four hour/same day response

Upgrades are effective from the original date of hardware purchase, regardless of upgrade purchase date. For instance, if you purchased a machine on February 1, 2004, and then bought a four-year upgrade, your coverage will end on January 31, 2008.

Check your warranty status and view general warranty information (US)

Step 2
Call business partner for products and information or your local ThinkPad/ThinkCentre business partner.

Step 3
ACTIVATION - If you purchase your ThinkPlus Maintenance Services through your local business partner you will receive e-mail instructions from the business partner on how to activate the service. If you purchase your ThinkPlus Maintenance Services by calling the ThinkPad and ThinkCentre PC sales center, activation will occur at the time of purchase.

Warranty service upgrades for business use - Business equipment includes machines normally used for business, professional, or trade purposes.

We make it easy and convenient for you to extend your service coverage period, upgrade your level of service or both. We will provide these warranty service upgrades, ThinkPlus Maintenance Services, to you only if you are acquiring these services:
  • For machines which are normally used for business, professional, or trade, rather than personal, family, or household purposes
  • For machines still within the original warranty period

  • National onsite service coverage
  • 24x7 telephone access to our technical support specialist

In-warranty, home equipment
Extended service contracts for personal use - Home equipment includes machines for personal, family or household purposes.

We make it easy and convenient for you to extend your service coverage period, upgrade your level of service or both. We're here when you need us, 24 hours a day, every day. If we can't fix your problem over the phone, we'll schedule onsite or depot repair, according to your level of service coverage.
