Yang Yuanqing
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Yang Yuanqing is Chief Executive Officer and an executive director of the Company and has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board on November 3, 2011. He is also a director and a shareholder of Sureinvest Holdings Limited which holds interests in the issued share capital of the Company.

 

Mr. Yang assumed the duties of chief executive officer on February 5, 2009. Prior to that, he was the chairman of the board from April 30, 2005. Before taking up the office as chairman, Mr. Yang was the chief executive officer and has been an executive director since December 16, 1997. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of computers. Under his leadership, Lenovo has been China's best-selling PC brand since 1997.

 

Mr. Yang holds a Master's degree from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Science and Technology of China. Mr. Yang is also a guest professor at the University of Science and Technology of China and a member of the New York Stock Exchange's International Advisory Committee.Top

Gianfranco Lanci
Corporate President and Chief Operating Officer

Gianfranco Lanci joined the Group in April 2012 and is currently Corporate President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for running Lenovo’s PC and Smart Device Business Group. Prior to that he ran Lenovo’s combined PC and Enterprise business groups.  Before that, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for running Lenovo's global PC business as well as for Lenovo's EMEA region and the Asia Pacific markets of Australia, Japan and New Zealand.  Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of the Company and President of the EMEA geography.

 

Mr Lanci has over 30 years experience across the PC business, including leadership roles at Texas Instruments and Acer. He was appointed as President of Acer Inc. in 2005 and in 2008 became Chief Executive Officer and President. Under his leadership he led Acer to the #2 position globally and #1 in EMEA whilst recording record profitability for three consecutive years.

 

Mr. Lanci holds a degree in engineering from the Politecnico of Turin.Top

Wong Wai Ming
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Wong Wai Ming is Executive Vice President of the Company and Chief Financial Officer. He was previously an investment banker for more than 15 years and also held senior management position in listed companies in Hong Kong. He was an independent non-executive director of the Company from March 30, 1999 until his appointment to the position of CFO on May 23, 2007.

 

Mr. Wong is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Bachelor's degree in Management Sciences from the Victoria University of Manchester, U.K..Top

Kirk Skaugen
Executive Vice President and President, Data Center Group

Kirk Skaugen joined Lenovo in 2016 as Executive Vice President and President of the Data Center Group, overseeing Lenovo's fast-growing enterprise business worldwide.

 

An industry veteran, Mr. Skaugen spent 24 years at Intel where he held a variety of leadership positions. Most recently he was Senior Vice President and General anager of Intel’s Client Computing Group, where he oversaw chipsets for PC, tablet, smartphone, and phablet platforms, along with new Ultrabook and 2-in-1 devices.

 

Before this role, he led Intel’s Datacenter and Connected Systems and Data Center groups.

 

Mr. Skaugen holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Purdue University.

Qiao Jian
Senior Vice President and Co-President, MBG China

Qiao Jian joined the Group in 1990 and is currently Senior Vice President and Co-President of Lenovo’s Mobile Business. In this role, she focuses on Lenovo’s mobile business in China, the world’s largest mobile market.

 

Prior to this, Ms. Qiao was Senior Vice President of Human Resources, responsible for human resources, organizational development, global talent, compensation and benefits, as well as nurturing the Company's culture.

 

Before this position, Ms. Qiao held various senior positions in the Group including Senior Vice President of Strategy and Planning and Vice President of Human Resources in China–both before and after the acquisition of IBM's PC Division.

 

Ms. Qiao has extensive experience in human resources, strategy, marketing and branding. She holds a Bachelor's degree in management science from Fudan University, as well as an EMBA from China Europe International Business School.Top

He Zhiqiang
Senior Vice President, Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group

He Zhiqiang joined the Group in 1986 and is the Senior Vice President of the Company, Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group. Prior to that he was President of the Ecosystem and Cloud Business Group, where he oversaw Lenovo's work to expand its fast growing Ecosystem business, as well as to drive innovation in software for Cloud based applications.

 

Previously, Mr. He served as Chief Technology Officer with responsibility for technology strategy, R&D systems and technology exploration of emerging areas. Prior to that, Mr. He held various leadership positions in Lenovo particularly in overseeing Lenovo's R&D initiatives and systems.

 

Mr. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Communication from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Aymar de Lencquesaing
Senior Vice President and Co-President, Mobile Business Group
Chairman and President, Motorola Mobility


As Co-President of Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group, Aymar co-leads Lenovo’s mobile business, including R&D, product, supply chain and the Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America and EMEA Geos.


Prior to that, Aymar was Lenovo's President of North America, responsible for North America sales, daily operations, growth and profitability of the region -- encompassing the United States and Canada. Prior to that, he was President of Lenovo in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).  Under his leadership, EMEA reached record market share and profitability across a diverse region including more than 120 countries, supported by 50 offices. 

 

Aymar joined Lenovo in 2013 to lead the company's drive in the mobile space in EMEA and lay the foundations for the company's expansion plans. He was promoted to president EMEA and senior vice president Lenovo Group in January 2014 and at the same time joined the Lenovo Executive Committee, LEC.

 

His 30 year career has spanned global leadership roles with companies in both the US and Europe. Over the last ten years he was based in Europe where he was corporate VP and member of the Executive Committee of Capgemini, senior VP and president of SHBG at Acer and CEO of Packard-Bell.

 

Prior to being in Europe he spent over twenty years in California where he held a variety of leadership positions in large companies such as Softbank, Ziff-Davis and Tandon, as well as a variety of technology start-ups.

 

Aymar graduated from the ESSEC business school in France in 1981.

Gao Lan
Vice President, Human Resources

Gao Lan joined Lenovo in 2009 and is now Vice President of Human Resources, responsible for human resources, organizational development, global talent, compensation and benefits, as well as nurturing the company's culture.

 

Prior to this, Lan held several Vice President roles leading many teams, including Emerging Markets Group HR Partner, APLA & China HR Partner, People & Organization Capability, and HR Strategy & Operations.

 

Ms. Gao has provided strategic HR support to the business, led organization design and restructuring projects, initiated talent development programs, organized and delivered global leadership development programs, and led the culture and HR operations integration for the IBM x86 server and Motorola acquisitions.

 

Before joining Lenovo, Lan was the Vice President of Human Resources for Thomson’s Asia Pacific region, Vice President of Human Resources for Asia Gas in BP, and was Country Head of Human Resources for Novartis China and Hong Kong.

 

Lan holds a Bachelor Degree of Science from Nankai University in China. She also studied Human Resource Management at the Western Management Institute of Beijing, and completed the Leadership Excellence for Business HR Program at Stanford University in the US.

David Roman
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

David Roman is senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Lenovo, responsible for driving all marketing activities for the global personal computer maker.

 

Prior to joining Lenovo, David was vice president of worldwide marketing communications for Hewlett-Packard's Personal Systems Group, responsible for driving advertising, media relations and marketing services. He was responsible for HP's award winning "The Computer is Personal Again" campaign.

 

Before HP, David was vice president of Corporate and International Marketing at NVIDIA. He also held a number of different marketing leadership roles at Apple Computer in Europe, Asia Pacific and the USA. His last Apple role was vice president of worldwide advertising and brand marketing.

 

David graduated from the Queensland University of Technology (Australia) with a degree in Architecture after starting his architectural studies at the Polytechnic of Torino (Italy). He also pursued executive MBA studies at INSEAD in Paris.

Luca Rossi
Senior Vice President and President, LATAM & EMEA

Luca Rossi joined Lenovo in 2015 and is now President of the EMEA and LATAM geographies, leading the PC, smartphone, tablet, and server businesses. Previously, he led the LATAM geography before having the scope of his role extended to EMEA.

 

Prior to joining Lenovo, Mr. Rossi served as President of EMEA for Acer. His other roles at Acer included leading the Packard Bell business, the consumer business, and the entire product business.

 

Before Acer, he held a number of positions with Asus, culminating in General Manager for Asus Europe.

 

Mr. Rossi’s career began as a 19-year-old entrepreneur when he set up an Italian systems integrator under the Geo Microsystems brand.

Chen Xudong
Senior Vice President, Global Services

Chen Xudong joined Lenovo in 1993, and is currently Senior Vice President of Global Services. In this role, he focuses on Lenovo's service organization, as well as business applications development, plus support and maintenance.

 

Prior to this, Mr. Chen was Senior Vice President and Co-President of Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group, overseeing mobile strategy, and served as the founding CEO of ShenQi, a subsidiary mobile company for Lenovo.

 

He has also been Senior Vice President of Lenovo Group and President for Lenovo China Region and the Asia Pacific Emerging Markets region, as well as President of the Lenovo China Region.

 

Mr. Chen’s other leadership roles include Regional Sales, Commerce, Quality, and Channel Management. He was appointed as Vice President of Lenovo Group in April 2005, and took charge of Lenovo's channel sales and consumer business for Asia Pacific in 2006.

 

From December 2008 to December 2009, he was responsible for the strategy and operations of Lenovo's Asia Pacific and Russia regions, and then moved to Lenovo's Emerging Market Group. Mr. Chen has served as the general manager of Lenovo China region since December 2009, and was appointed to senior vice president of Lenovo Group in October 2011.

 

Mr. Chen graduated from Peking University with a bachelor's degree in probability statistics in 1989 and a master's degree in the same discipline in 1992. Mr. Chen also holds an EMBA degree from China Europe International Business School.

Laura Quatela
Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer

Laura Quatela, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, joined the company in 2016 and is responsible for Lenovo’s overall legal strategy.

 

Before Lenovo, Ms. Quatela co-founded a global consulting firm in 2014 to help clients leverage intellectual property assets and organizations, and make more informed technology investment decisions. Among her roles, Laura served as executive vice president of intellectual property for Alcatel-Lucent SA, reporting to the CEO, and was responsible for leading the company’s efforts to monetize its patent portfolio.

 

Previously, Laura was President of Eastman Kodak, where she held various leadership positions. In 2004, she oversaw the licensing of the company’s technology and patents, which generated more than $4 billion dollars. In 2008, she became Kodak’s first Chief Intellectual Property Officer, a role she retained when named the company’s General Counsel in 2011. She also served as co-COO in 2012.

 

Currently, Ms. Quatela also serves on the board of directors of Technicolor SA, where she chairs the strategy committee.

Arthur Hu
Chief Information Officer

As the Chief Information Officer for Lenovo Group, Arthur Hu is responsible for the overall delivery of information services, digital technology, and business transformation.

 

Mr. Hu works with the business units to drive business model transformation for more competitive capabilities, and oversees a portfolio of strategic initiatives to further strengthen IT management and business collaboration.

 

Previously, he held a series of leadership positions within the Lenovo CIO team covering IT Strategy, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture and Business Transformation, and Digital Go-to-Market Solutions Delivery.

 

Prior to joining Lenovo in 2009, Mr. Hu was with McKinsey & Company, where he focused on high tech, strategy and technology management, and operational and strategic programs to deliver transformation impact across global organizations. Before that, he worked in software engineering at a variety of companies, including Amazon.

 

Mr. Hu holds both a Bachelors and Masters Degree of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University. A sports enthusiast, he enjoys tennis, basketball, and rollerblading.

Yong Rui, Dr.
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer


Dr. Yong Rui joined Lenovo in 2016 as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. He is responsible for Lenovo’s corporate technology strategy and roadmap, R&D systems, and emerging technologies.

Before joining Lenovo, Dr. Rui had an extremely distinguished 18-year career with Microsoft. As Deputy Managing Director of Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA), Dr. Yong led key AI research groups and all of the lab's engineering groups. From 2010 to 2012, he was GM of Microsoft Asia-Pacific R&D (ARD) Group, where he led groups in charge of China Innovation. Rui also held many other leadership positions within the company ranging from R&D strategy, basic research, to technology incubation and product development.

A Fellow of many top technical associations, such as IEEE, IAPR and SPIE, as well as a Distinguished Scientist of ACM, Dr. Rui is recognized as a leading expert in his field. His range of expertise covers many technologies, including image, video and entity search, chat bots, AI assistants, tele-conferencing systems, and cloud AI services.

Dr. Rui has been issued with 60 US and international patents, and is a recipient of the prestigious 2016 IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award.

Gerry P. Smith
Executive Vice President and COO of PCSD

Gerry P. Smith joined the Group in August 2006 and is now an Executive Vice President, overseeing the company’s global supply chain. In this role, he is responsible for end-to-end supply chain management — encompassing order management, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and fulfilment operations.

 

Prior to this, Mr. Smith was Chief Operating Officer of the combined PC and Enterprise Business Group. He was also Senior Vice President of the Company and President of the Americas geography.

 

Before joining the Group, Mr. Smith held a number of leadership roles at Dell, including Vice President and General Manager of Notebook Development, of Peripherals Development and of the Display Line of Business.

 

Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Marketing from Pacific Lutheran University.
