Lenovo’s success in the past fiscal year is a testament to our leaders, our people and the way that we do business.

As Vice President for People & Organization Capability, one of my key responsibilities is to ensure that Lenovo has a broad array of talents around the world.  We have a global population representing many cultures, countries and experiences.  Being a successful global company today takes a diversity of people with broad experiences, multiple skills, a variety of backgrounds, people from various countries and cultures all working together toward a common goal.

What unifies Lenovo as a company is our commitment to our customers and partners and the vision to become one of the world’s leading technology companies.  In short, our people are our greatest strength.

Last year we launched the Lenovo Way, a defining cultural initiative that everyone at Lenovo recognizes as a cornerstone to our success.  The Lenovo Way emphasizes the values of planning, performing, prioritizing and practicing improvement.  In its simplest form, it means, “We do what we say, and we own what we do.” This ownership culture drives commitment, performance and our leaders have observed that these principles were significant factors in our success in fiscal year 2010/11. 

The Lenovo Way has helped us establish a corporate culture with a common language.  Wherever they may operate around the world, employees know the Lenovo Way and what it means to work at our company.  Paired with a respect and appreciation for our globally representative work force, by following the Lenovo Way, employees hold themselves and their teams accountable.  We succeed when each of us respects and appreciates the diversity of the individuals we work with.  We transcend traditional geographic and cultural borders to better anticipate and serve the complex needs of our customers around the world.  That is why we are winning in the marketplace and how we will make Lenovo a globally respected company that people want to work for and work with.
