Ever prepare for a military endurance test? We did – in the way we designed and built these field-rugged ThinkPads. Features like an airbag-like protection system, roll cage construction, shock-mounted hard drives and spill-resistant keyboards keep them going in impolite environments, and smart additions like an available 680-nit high-brightness display keep them usable out where it isn’t cozy. These machines blew through all eight MIL-SPEC torture tests, including the low pressure of a 15,000-foot elevation, high humidity, blowing dust, and rapid temperature fluctuations between 4 and 140 degrees.
