While Cloud First and other guidance have set a destination, guidance on getting there has been less specific. Recent improvements to the FedRamp program are helping, but many agencies are still struggling to chart a path into the cloud that balances competing needs for resource flexibility, security, and user experience.
Migrating agency business into the cloud requires closely fine-tuning need and solution. Security is best served by a private cloud, while public clouds are friendlier to users and more efficient. Ultimately, a successful solution lives somewhere in the middle, delivering back-end power and security while giving users a consistent, predictable, and intuitive experience.
