Consider Lenovo’s computers as the fastest, easiest way to “go green,” slash energy bills and protect the environment. Lenovo is an industry leader for our incorporation of environmentally friendly practices in our product design, packaging, product energy consumption and recycling.
Take the ThinkPad L Series. These laptops are made from materials that use up to 30% post-consumer content — more than any other ThinkPad laptop. Post-consumer content includes office-sized water jugs and used IT equipment, which are recycled into parts like the LCD cover, palm rests, and top/bottom case. Each L Series laptop saves the equivalent of 10 plastic water bottles. Then there’s the ThinkPad T420, the first ever laptop to capture UL Environment Gold rating
We’ve also optimized our packaging process and implemented the use of recycled and recyclable material, reduced the size of boxes used for our ThinkPad products and have increased the use of bulk packaging. In fact, many Lenovo notebook product lines Lenovo have implemented the use of 100% post-consumer molded fiber (paper pulp) packaging, which can typically be readily recycled in municipal waste streams.
Lenovo offers a full complement of ENERGY STAR® qualified notebooks, desktops, workstations, monitors, and servers. ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
There’s also Lenovo’s Power Manager. This innovative tool allows you to take control of your PCs power consumption which translates into annual power savings. It enables the simple and flexible management of your notebook and desktop power settings.
When Lenovo products enter end-of-life, our green commitment continues through Asset Recovery Services. You ship your devices directly to Lenovo for secure data destruction, recycling and a cash-back credit for your next Lenovo purchase. Lenovo computing products — greener than anything else out there.
