Tablets are a game-changer for home entertainment

Movie and TV lovers who are hesitating to purchase a tablet computer may be convinced when they consider some of the technology’s advantages for entertainment at home and on-the-go.

In fact, market research indicates that more consumers are turning to tablets as an entertainment-focused device. In March, AdMob released a survey that found nearly 70 percent of respondents said they spend at least one hour on their tablet, while another 38 percent said they spend more than two. Tablets are changing traditional technology usage trends among consumers as well, considering 77 percent of respondents said they now spend less time using a PC since they purchased a tablet.

And who could blame them, when the combination of portability, large screen size and ease of use make watching a movie or TV show so engaging on a tablet. With their media files stored on a tablet, users can start a movie at home, pause it and finish it anywhere else, at their own convenience.

The ease of browsing through a tablet, which simply involves finger scrolling across a touchscreen to choose files, also makes organization and location simple for those with expansive home media collections.

With a slew of high-powered tablet computers available, movie and TV lovers have everything they need literally at their fingertips. The only obstacle in their way is their own hesitance.
