In an interview with technology news provider TabTimes, Gamestop president Tony Bartel says tablets have a bright future in the gaming industry. "Tablets allow for a highly immersive, yet incredibly portable, gaming experience," Bartel says. "The ability to play PC or console quality games on the go is a realistic possibility we are very excited about." Gamestop has accepted tablet trade-ins for years and recently began selling tablets itself. The company also sells accessories to complement the tablet gaming experience, such as wireless controllers. Looking ahead, gaming on tablets is likely to become a more powerful force. While the traditional PC and console gaming market has slumped in recent years, mobile gaming has surged. Some expect tablets to eventually replace consoles in the gaming space, and as tablet technology continues to develop, that prediction seems more realistic. |
