Desktops vs. Laptops - What's better for college students

It is important for college students to make the right choice when deciding what type of computer best suits their needs.

The on-the-go lifestyle of college students seems to make the laptop the preferred choice, and for most students that probably is the case. Many classes require a student to take an abundance of notes, and bringing a laptop to class can make the process much more convenient and productive. There will be no need to worry about reading your hasty handrwriting or getting your notes lost under laundry the night before an exam.

The mobility of laptops is useful in other situations as well. Students often work on group projects or study for tests together. With a laptop you can bring it anywhere your group wants to meet and collaborate using any number of digital tools.

However, some students may still gain several advantages from a desktop computer. Easily distracted students that purchase a desktop force themselves to only work in one location and increase their productivity.

Desktops also contain a lot more storage space than laptops. Students majoring in fields such as music and graphic design can greatly benefit from the ability to store more files.
